Officers & Committees

At County Cavan Golf Club, the Officers and Committees form the backbone of the club’s governance and day-to-day operations. Comprising elected and appointed men and women members, these groups collaborate to ensure the club runs smoothly, remains financially sound, maintains high standards of play and hospitality, and upholds our proud traditions.
The Officers include the Captain, Lady Captain, President, Vice-Captains, Secretary and Treasurer. Their leadership sets the strategic direction for the year ahead, providing a clear vision, and acting as ambassadors to both members and visitors. The Committees cover key areas such as competitions, membership, finance, greens and course, clubhouse/social and junior development. Each committee is tasked with a defined set of responsibilities: organising fixtures and tournaments, managing subscription and guest policies, budgeting and financial oversight, overseeing the condition of the course and practice facilities, cultivating the clubhouse experience and growing the junior section.
Together we work to maintain a balance between operational excellence and community spirit. They listen to the membership, propose initiatives, liaise with staff and professionals, and ensure that member feedback is reflected in decision-making. According to club governance best practice, such committees act as the crucial link between volunteers and professional staff, ensuring transparency, accountability and continuity.
On this page you will find the names and roles of the committee, an outline of their remit and how members can interact or volunteer. Whether you are interested in governance, events, course care or social activities, this section provides insight into how the Club is run and how you can become involved. Thank you to all those who serve — your dedication helps make County Cavan Golf Club a thriving, welcoming and member-focused community.
